Giving Back to the Parade
The Disability Pride Parade NYC has a mutual aid requirement. The parade should be inclusive of all -- including people and organizations with limited funds--while also helping DPNYC.
We are, however, mandating all returning registered groups to fulfill the mutual aid requirement by participating in the 10th Anniversary Give or Get Challenge. Individual participants and first-year participating groups are NOT required to do so:
1) Give a multiple of 10: Make a donation that fits your capacity--big or small--as long as it's a multiple of 10. Please indicate on the Registration Form if you are unable to donate. Here is the suggested sliding scale for the required donation:
● Under $25k: $30–$50
● $25k–$100k: $100–$250
● $100k–$250k: $250–$500
● $250k–$1M: $500–$1,500
● $1M+: $1,500+
OR
2) Get 10 people involved: We recommend this if you are unable to donate or to find a donor able to pay the required participation fee. Reach out to 10 individuals or organizations in your community, whether they’re part of your cultural or disability group; faith circle; work, school, or family; or online or creative networks. Invite them to donate, volunteer, march, or support the parade in any way they can.
You can record your contribution amount(s) and outreach on this Give or Get Form. If you can't provide contact information due to confidentiality, write "Confidential - contact info not shared."
This "Thank You Tribute Listing" shares community donations in order of monetary contribution.

Unlike many parades in New York City that charge mandatory registration fees—such as the Puerto Rican Day, Panamanian, Mermaid, and West Indian Day Parades—we do not ask individuals or schools for fees, so the event remains open to all.
In past years, the City helped cover half our costs, but that support is no longer available. We now look to organizations and corporations to contribute at a level that feels right for them. Your support through our PayPal, Zeffy, and Venmo accounts will help keep this celebration thriving.
