What is a Theme Execution Volunteer?
For the 10th anniversary of the Disability Pride Parade, we're introducing a new approach: each block of the Parade will encompass a different theme celebrating the contributions of the disability community. We need your help to make it happen. From choreographing dances to ensuring the parade route is accessible to researching fashion trends, theme execution volunteers will cultivate a lively, vibrant atmosphere along the Parade route.
Theme Execution Volunteer Roles
Dance Consultants and Choreographers: Advise on the type of dance most popular and fitting for the block's theme. You may choreograph a routine for your company to perform along the Parade route.
Art and Display Coordinators: Fashion and Costume Guides: Research fashion trends of the decade or theme a block represents, and devise instructions for volunteers who signed up to dress up according to that decade along the Parade route.
Route Accessibility Coordinators: Ensure all activities along the Parade route are fully accessible

Music Curators: Select music to play on each block and ensure it fits the block theme. May serve as DJs
Storytelling Leadership: Kick off the 400 by 400 Campaign by reaching out to people who may be interested in telling their stories as New Yorkers with disabilities. You may also tell your own story. We strongly encourage schools to take on this role.
Social Media Influencers and Podcasters: Promote the event on your platform and reach out to influencers
