In person at CWA Local 1180 and virtually
Join CWA Local 1180’s Committee on People with Disabilities and Disability Pride NYC for an important community outreach meeting ahead of the 2026 Disability Pride NYC Parade and Disability Pride Block Party.
We are proud to welcome MOPD Commissioner Nisha Agarwal, who will join us virtually to share MOPD’s priorities, discuss the agency’s partnership with the 2026 Disability Pride NYC Parade, and speak about opportunities for the labor and disability justice movements to work together to advance disability justice and rights.
Come meet, connect, ask questions, and help build the movement. Whether you are part of the disability community, a union member, a community organization, an advocate, or an ally, we invite you to join us and be part of the conversation as we build toward this year’s Disability Pride celebrations.

For nearly 50 years, CWA Local 1180’s Committee on People with Disabilities has promoted the rights, status, and careers of disabled people in the workplace, the union, the Local, and society. Since the first Disability Pride NYC Parade in 2015, the Committee has hosted an annual outreach meeting, welcoming New York City’s disability community to its union headquarters to connect, share a meal, and build solidarity around disability justice and rights.
We are also grateful to the NYC Mayor’s Office for People with Disabilities for serving as the City agency permittee and partner for the 2026 Disability Pride Block Party in Union Square Park.
Join us on September 9 and help us build toward Disability Pride 2026!
Everyone is welcome!
Additional community outreach meetings will be announced as we build toward the 2026 Disability Pride NYC Parade. Please check back for new dates, locations, virtual participation options, and accessibility information.
