The Parade brings hundreds of people together to celebrate disability pride, culture, community, and collective power. But we want to build those connections throughout the year, too.
That's why we're inviting organizations, businesses, community groups, cultural institutions, advocates, and allies to become Disability Pride NYC Community Partners.
A partnership is an opportunity to support each other's work, reach new communities, and create more opportunities for disabled New Yorkers.
We know that every organization has something different to bring to the table.
You may have a community we haven't reached yet. We may have a platform that can amplify your work. You may have expertise, resources, or space. We may have events, connections, and opportunities to bring people together.
The idea is simple: what can we do for each other, and what can we build together?
You: Share the Disability Pride NYC Parade, advocacy campaigns, and community opportunities with your members, clients, employees, followers, or network.
Us: Help amplify your organization's events, programs, resources, and work through the Disability Pride NYC community and platforms.
Together: We can introduce each other's work to people who might not otherwise find it.
You: Bring your community to the Parade, Disability Justice Block Party, outreach events, or other Disability Pride NYC activities.
Us: Create opportunities for your organization to connect directly with disabled New Yorkers, advocates, artists, organizations, and allies.
Together: We can create spaces for people to meet, learn, celebrate, and get involved.
You: Help share a petition, make a call, send an email, or encourage your community to take action when an issue matters.
Us: Provide opportunities, information, and calls to action around disability access, disability rights, and civic engagement in NYC.
Together: We can turn community support into collective action.
You: Offer your space, expertise, resources, or ideas for an event or activity.
Us: Bring our community, help with outreach, and collaborate on programming.
Together: We can co-host workshops, conversations, outreach events, community gatherings, or participate in major NYC events together.
You: Join us at major NYC events, parades, festivals, conferences, and community gatherings where disability advocacy and inclusion belong at the table.
Us: Identify opportunities, coordinate participation, and help connect your organization with the Disability Pride NYC community.
Together: We can show up, build visibility, strengthen relationships, and bring disability inclusion into the broader NYC community.
You: Share relevant events, resources, and opportunities from your organization with us on our partner website, Project Access For All
Us: Do the same with Disability Pride NYC opportunities and community information.
Together: We can keep each other and our communities connected throughout the year including through platforms such as Project Access for All.
Our goal is to find ways to connect or collaborate throughout the year, whether that's once a quarter, around a specific project, or whenever a meaningful opportunity comes up.
There is no one-size-fits-all partnership. You choose what makes sense for your organization. And as the relationship grows, so can the partnership.
Maybe you:
share a few Parade posts with your community;
include the Parade in your newsletter or website;
bring your community to the Parade;
attend or host an outreach event;
sign and share our advocacy petition;
make a call or send an email to an elected official;
participate in a NYC community event with us;
share your own events and opportunities with our community;
support the Parade or our year-round work through a financial contribution or sponsorship;
provide in-kind support, resources, or services;
collaborate with us on a project or campaign; or
have an idea we haven't thought of yet.
The Parade is where many of us come together. The partnership is what happens next.
We're looking for organizations that want to stay connected, support one another, and find meaningful ways to work together throughout the year.
Not every collaboration needs to be big. Sometimes it's sharing a post. Sometimes it's showing up for an event. Sometimes it's making an introduction, opening a door, contributing resources, or working together on something new.
Small actions can build a much bigger community when we do them together.
Fill out the form below to tell us a little about your organization and how you'd like to get involved.
Once we receive your response, we'll reach out to schedule a conversation and talk together about what a partnership could look like — for the Parade and throughout the year.
